News on the subscription billing migration: Nothing is changing, for now (TM)

Thx to Leak and everybody else sending me these news:

In another episode of "Invisible force in a foreign country threatening artists' livelihoods" through the most roundabout way possible, I woke up this morning to the news that thx to some court ruling, Apple can't charge 30% to ppl on their appstore, which in turns means Patreon is unsure about deleting the "per creation" system I'm currently in. I'm still waiting on an official statement of the matter though, which patreon still hasn't talked about.

For the time being though, I'm thinking the most sensible approach would be "If it ain't broke don't fix it", leave everything as is. Continue providing you with as much flexibility as possible. If people want to pay monthly, there's my substar for that.

And if patreon ever decides to continue going with their mandatory migration, (which i honestly think it's only a matter of time for it to happen) well I already have all the business plan sorted out :v

But i would like to hear your thoughts on the matter. Are you comfortable with the current system? Or perhaps you were looking forward to the monthly billing?

PS: I suppose you can ignore the whole "change your monthly max" thing involving the previous model then, make sure to adjust your pledge to your liking.

Both systems have their pros and cons for me tbh per creation is great for creators, but for me that mean having to save the whole month and being unable to cancel it if something happen and I can 't spend more, on the other side per monthly is easier to manage, but far easier to forget I'm fine with the patreon staying as it i'm used to it, it's just stressful that it's change then no change then maybe change qwq"
