I'll probably edit this post within the next few days so that she's not just floating in the air in that last panel (not satisfied with my attempts so far so I'm posting like this first).

The next couple of posts are going to be Kim Pine pages again. The last few pages of Hot Spring Fever (part 1) have been fighting me, so I need more time to rework them a bit.

Mario princesses

Here's the drawing based on the poll results - or at least it would be if I had remembered to set a time limit for the poll. When I started the sketch all characters were even so I drew them all, then Bowsette and Daisy were both in the lead, so I colored them.

Now Daisy is the poll winner, but the drawing is already finished. Maybe I'll make another drawing of her later, but for now I'll resume work on the comics.

Character poll

Hi,

I'll be doing one more sketch page of a character before resuming work on the comics, here's a poll to decide which character it'll be. I like to have a theme so the choices are all Mario princesses!

Character suggestions + poll for extra content

1. Context : I’ll be going on a short trip soon, and while I expect I’ll have time to draw, I won’t have access to my usual files and setup, so I won’t work on the ongoing comics. Instead, I’m thinking of doing a few illustrations / one page comics of different characters.

2. Character suggestions : You can suggest some characters for me to draw, in comments or DM (no OCs). I’ll pick 2 or 3. If there are no suggestions (or too many) I’ll make a poll instead. Feel free to suggest several characters, though I’ll probably only pick one per person.

3. Poll for extra content : I’m looking for extra content I can post when I don’t have time to draw. Vote for the options you would be interested in seeing! So far the only things I could come up with are what I would be interested to see from an artist, as an artist myself. I have no idea if these options are appealing to non artists. Feel free to propose ideas if there are things not mentioned you would like to see.

Slightly different rendering style this time, using hard lines instead of the low opacity lines I usually favor. I might do the rest of the comic like this, because it makes some parts I usually struggle with (like anal) easier to draw.

I don't really like making these kinds of changes mid comic, but I've already done it once in this very comic, and I think that apart from higher contrast, it doesn't look very different from previous pages.

I’ve finished mapping out the rest of the comic, and right now it’s looking like there will be around 10 more pages (29 pages in total). I kind of want to round it up to 30 though, so maybe I’ll add a page, or make a cover.

Hot Spring Fever - 1-22 edit

Reupload of the first 22 pages with a few edits.

The edits are all pretty small and don’t impact the story too much, so it’s not necessary to reread.

The only edit that somewhat affects the story is that the orc now has ear piercings (it is meant to contrast with the elf’s ears that are non pierced, it will come into play later).

Patch notes:

• Added moles, tattoos, scars, piercings

• Reworded some dialogues

• Edited a few panels

• Pages 1-8 : rounded the chins, darkened the skin of the orc to match the other pages

Hot Spring Fever - 22

A few words about future planning:

I will start posting pages of Hot Spring Fever publicly very soon. I consider 20 pages to be a good number as far as early access is concerned, so I’ll maintain that at minimum.

Because of that, I’ve spent some time to make revisions to all the previous pages (and the first 8 in particular - no more pointy chins). The changes are small, but I’ll post the updated pages here after I give them a final look.

While I’ve plotted the entire comic, I’ve almost reached the end of the batch of pages that were already sketched out, so there might be more Kim Pine pages in the next few weeks while I sketch out the next batch.

Estimated length for the whole comic:

• Part 1 - 31 pages (almost there!)

• Part 2 - ~30 pages (there’s no real need to separate the comic in two parts, but I’m considering simplifying the rendering style for the rest of the comic, to speed up the process, and it would make the transition less jarring, I think)
