Overhaul to MRC/MRCPlus

Hello all!

If you've used Oculus MRC in the past, you'll know how painful it is to output decent footage. From the long, tedious process of setting up software to the Quest's unreliable video framerate and quality, the default implementation of MRC isn't ideal.

To remedy these issues, MRCPlus and custom client software will be released in the near future. A combination of the two aim to push Quest streaming to its full potential.

Here are some planned improvements for MRC:

A modified OBS plugin designed for streaming Beat Saber

The existing MRC OBS plugin isn't a good solution in 2022. Modifying the plugin opens the door for compatilibity improvements, easy-to-use installers and additional features.

Gamma correction and improvements to vibrance

Working with MRC footage, you may have noticed that the output appears slightly faded. Custom releases of the plugin will include built-in colour correction, enabling OBS to output much richer colours matching footage captured on PC and Replay.

Support for anti-aliasing

After exhausting a few options, I've found a method to achieve reasonibly fast multi-sample anti-aliasing in MRCPlus. This will reduce jagged edges and significantly improve image quality without requiring extra resolution.

Streaming over USB

Many users don't have the bandwidth to stream MRC video over their network, rendering MRC unusable in some cases. Fortunately, an update to the OBS plugin will allow users to redirect the stream over a USB connection through some adb magic. This will be a huge improvement to keeping MRC accessible and will result in increased streaming stability.

These changes will be pushed out in test channels as more features are developed. Stay tuned for more updates!
