Meanwhile a detective is actually doing her job pretty well and Helen attempts to find the trail of someone she once thought to be lost...

Revenant lore is extremely vague, I feel like we got more of it in IWTV s2 ep 1 than the entirety of the Vampire Chronicles, I guess Anne just didn't care enough... which is a shame but also very funny because she loved retconning shit. Also, the iron thing was very unexpected, if i'm remembering right it's only established that iron can weaken vampires in the LAST book, really makes you wonder who in that writers' room managed to read through 13 books and decided to include that of all things in this show lmao.

The iron doesn't really hurt them when they touch it or anything, but they can be imprisoned in it, and it weakens their telepathic abilities. It's super fascinating that they're pulling stuff from later books, because it means that we might get some more cool characters faster in iwtv or here (like doctor Fareed or Raglan)

2025-11-23 09:55:32 +0000 UTCI’m not sure what they’re doing with the revenant vampire lore, it’s VERY vague in the books so there’s a lot of room to play with it. They seem extremely powerful here, but maybe it’s just that Checkers had the element of surprise? The clicker training rules don’t seem super consistent. How does Checkers know what to do? Why doesn’t he go on a rampage and kill everyone in the hotel suite? You’re right, there is a small but enthusiastic contingent of Guy/Jasper (Gasper) fic writers making them kiss as we speak.

2025-11-23 00:23:12 +0000 UTCI don’t know. I disagree. What reason would Jasper have to lie about that? Wouldn’t he just have told Guy the whole truth at that point? I know people seem to think that Jasper is older then he says because he appears to be quite strong, but remember, a vampire can also be quite strong if their maker is as well. Also, given the scales of vampires we’ve seen, he honestly isn’t that strong. He lacks the fire and cloud gift, and although he is obviously quite proficient with the mind gift, that’s the most powerful thing we’ve seen him do. I don’t think there is any reason why he would be lying or why he couldn’t be telling the truth here.

Helen got separated from her twin sister when she was sent to live in the US, leaving her sister at the facility. That's why she asked the caretaker in the cemetery if he'd seen HER before. She hasn't been there in a while because she lives in New York but if her sister had been coming to the cemetery, the expectation is that someone with Helen's face has been visiting the graves.

Both have a reason to be bitter with the Talamasca especially if Mergu got the chicken story from the Talamasca too meaning the Talamasca screwed both of them over, just a few hundred years apart.
