Totally okay with no subtitles. You strike me as a guy who will not consciously miss anything if you can help it, like a good book, in the moment anyway.

Can’t wait to rewatch it again 🤗 As someone else mentioned, Tyrell speaks swedish to his wife, and she answers in danish. I remember I flipped out when I first saw that, it made me so happy. That’s the norm here in Scandinavia between danes, swedes, and norwegians, we just speak our own language to each other. But you never see it in english speaking shows, so I’ve always really appreciated that tidbit. Its funny I’ve often seen subtitles mistake it, saying they both are speaking swedish, while I can hear such a clear difference between them (hint! Us danes have such a dead affect, the language is very “flat”, almost monotone, and “mumbly” as you can hear with the wife (a common joke is to say we speak with a potato in our mouth) while Tyrell has a more “flowy/song-like/hills-and-valleys” affect to his words when speaking swedish (much prettier sounding, I begrudgingly admit haha) Anyways rambling over! Glad to be here 🤖 - Btw Angela says she lost her mom to the leukemia not her dad. So that’s why she says “me and my dad will be screwed” as she still has her father

I'm glad you are already enjoying the cinematography. Mr Robot is a Masterclass on filmmaking. Its a shame that Sam did not get more recognition for this series.

I'm curious what you think about that as a narrative decision and what it suggests to you about the two characters. I'm not asking as a spoiler at all or to lead you in any direction; I'm merely curious to hear your thoughts because you often catch things I do not or interpret things differently. I'm really enjoying your reactions to this show! I knew it would be in your wheelhouse.

2025-11-04 00:07:42 +0000 UTCI personally HATE subtitles.. I only turn them on briefly if I don't understand something someone says. I love to pay attention to subtle nuances in acting.. And I find if I spend my time reading the dialogue I end up missing some of that. They are good late at night to keep the tv down from disturbing others.. But other then that. Nah.. I don't like em. Plus as you said. They can spoil things. Also, I hope my message on the last video didn't come off as harsh. I was just pointing out things.. It's in my nature.. Unfortunately. Not trying to play gotcha though. You're my boy blue. xD Also... we stan Shayla around here. <3 her.

I totally get what you mean about them sometimes spoiling names or twists, especially if you use not only subtitles but closed captioning. Objectively speaking, the dialogue and storytelling in this show is SO DENSE (and this is not to insult anyone’s intelligence here, it’s one of the most dense shows I’ve ever watched, in a good way imo). I would err on the side of pro-subtitles but I’m gonna be watching no matter what! And just a little correction — *and this isn’t me confirming any theories or hinting* the theory you’re describing with Mr. Robot/Elliott wouldn’t be borderline personality disorder, it would be dissociative identity disorder (previously called multiple personality disorder). The guy Tyrell hooked up with was the executive assistance for the CEO, the one he tried to tell him in the beginning to reschedule a meeting with only him and the CEO after he got turned away. He hacked into his phone to get info on who they were looking at to replace Colby instead of him.
