(Full Reaction) Stranger Things S5 E3-4
Added 2025-11-29 01:24:20 +0000 UTCThese two episodes were fantastic!!! Kevin McCallister would be so proud! Despite there being such a big cast, each character has such a satisfying storyline. I think these two episodes were even better than episodes 1 and 2. This was a great set up for the second half of the season.

Be prepared for some stunning reveals. The Henry reveal in S5E2 was just a warmup. S5E3 Again, David Harbour plays a character in Thunderbolts, and in that movie, there’s also a sonic superpower-suppression device. Did you notice that when Henry threatens to send Derek to his death, Holly has a rather dark reaction when she smiles? She doesn’t like the idea of killing Derek, but she has no problem with threatening his life. The military calls their sonic superpower-suppression device “The Hedgehog”. I wonder if that’s a reference to “Sonic the Hedgehog”, even though that game didn’t come out until 4 years later in 1991. Also notice that the Turnbow family is on the fallen billboard. Nancy drives that station wagon very aggressively. I bet the stunt driver for this show loved filming sharp turns with those old heavy cars. Do you realize whose clothes Holly is trying on? It’s almost like Henry “recast” that role. We don’t see the science teacher much anymore because he’s a middle school teacher, and the only character still in middle school is Erica (and Holly). When Murray gave Jonathan the cassette tape, he used the word “engaging”. Hint hint. Notice the odd shape of the hole in the telescope cap. That shape appears again. Erica has now given the (real) world one of the most quotable lines EVER: “And I told you to eat your damn pie!” That line will be spoken everywhere in the world, mostly around the holidays, for decades or centuries to come. Erica is a legend. How’s THAT for a reveal, huh? Gotcha big time. Yes. Henry knows that Max is there. He might also be using Holly to lure Max out of hiding (by telling Holly to do something he knows she’ll defy). If you remember back to what Dr. Brenner said, he said that Henry doesn’t just kill people, he CONSUMES THEM. That means Henry “consumed” Max. S5E4 That color-saturated “place” where Holly is currently “living” inside Henry’s unnaturally-perfect family home isn’t in the Upside Down. Her BODY (and the bodies of the other 3 chilren) are in the Upside Down, but not their minds. The military isn’t thinking through the situation. They know that Holly was the first abduction. They also know that El entered the Upside Down after that abduction. So how the eff could El have abducted 3 more children from the Rightside Up if she was in the Upside Down? Notice the shape of the cave “window”. What does that shape resemble? Cue: dick jokes. I guess this is still a “kids” show. Poor Max. She had to see the massacre at Hawkins Lab too. But she also got to see Joyce and Steve’s father in high school. There’s a date on that flyer for the school musical: November 6, 1959. Henry’s name is also listed, as well as many of the adult residents in Hawkins. That means that many of the parents of the children and teenagers in this show KNEW HENRY! I’m wondering if maybe something bad happened back then, and no one wants to talk about it. Perhaps part of Henry’s motivations are REVENGE for something that was done to him on the day or evening of the school musical. BTW: young Joyce was played by a British singer named Birdy. Karen, Nancy, and Holly are all warriors of the highest order. The Dr. Kay and El interaction is a bit rough. But if you someday look at behind-the-scenes footage, the interactions between the two actresses is something else entirely. Hold onto your headphones (and Lamby). The upcoming action scenes are super intense. Yeah, that’s the problem: all of the soldiers die, so there’s no one left to report what happened. Who would’ve thought there’d be a high school reunion near the end. I wonder if Joyce knows that Vecna is Henry Creel? Vecna says that the children are weak in body and mind, but I think he miscalculated with Holly, and will find out she’s not weak at all. Three big reveals: Max is trapped inside Henry’s mind, Kali was held prisoner by the military, and Will was always a sorcerer. He just didn’t have the confidence he needed. Robin helped with that. Robin is going to save the world with her own special magic.

2025-12-11 20:08:51 +0000 UTCHaving to wait a month now sucks! But the anticipation is fun somehow! I had the exact same reaction when I saw Max! Totally got me by surprise! I also love that it was Robin's words that inspired Will at the end. Fans really wanted to see Robin and Will paired up and I don't think they were disappointed!
