Coloring/Lighting Tutorial (?)

Lately I've been using a coloring method that I really like. I made a step-by-step guide image for myself to reference, so I figured I should toss that up on here (seeing as it's basically bonus content).

I don't know if anyone's especially interested in this sort of post, but I know it's the stuff I always get curious about when it comes to other artists. So, if any of you want to see more "making-of" content, comment and let me know!

I've always wanted my art to have saturated shadows that suit each color, but I don't like manually picking each shadow color. (I mean, these are comics! You have to save time if you can.) I feel like using multiply layers will often result in at least one color having a muddy shadow. (Especially yellow and green! Darn yellow and green.)

I'm pretty satisfied with this new method, though. I'll draw on the shadows, select that area of the flats, and edit it using these parameters! (Same with the non-shadows.) And you can change up the settings of Step 3 depending on what sort of lighting you want–cool colors, warm colors, etc.! If the results are too intense or saturated, I lower the opacity of the shading layers.

This might be a little in-depth for people who don't do much digital art... Then again, I think a lot more people understand these terms nowadays. Well, if you wanna try this method out, go for it! If this post is too confusing, comment and let me know–I could potentially make a step-by-step video. And if you're really into this content or really not into it, you can let me know that as well, lol!
