If you follow me on any other of my social media, you've probably seen some of these drawings! (But not all?) Anyway, I've been very slowly brainstorming this idea/world for a couple years and, with this TDL break, I thought I'd post about it!
It's a sci-fi setting (because I can never get enough of sci-fi settings). Life across the universe has become interconnected, and an odd trio begins travelling together. One is a human from a militarized Earth, one is a runaway from a cult-like home, and the other is a sentient planet in an android body. They hop from galaxy to galaxy, meeting unusual people, learning about each other, and expanding their horizons.
The crux of the story is extreme culture shock! Every locale is very...alien (hehe), posing what-ifs and engendering messy interactions. If the cultural standard of a species is: attacking someone = a polite hello, will your reluctance to do the same be a grave insult? If you get underfoot a being 100 times your size and 100 times more advanced than you, should it apologize? And if your planet is a galactic superpower in influence, does it give you the right to insist your answers to these questions are correct?
I've got a lot of sketchbook doodles for this world as well, so if I manage to round them up, I'll make another post!

Here's the last bit of concept art for Ch. 20! The first image is pretty old; possibly from when I'd just conceived of the scene I was drawing. I'd estimate I did it before...2020? The second is more recent! I really thought I'd get that interaction between Yuma and Coda into the canon comic somewhere. Didn't end up happening! I might work it into a flashback, but as of now, I have no concrete plans, so I'll post it. Yuma was just a lot less interested in Coda than I expected, haha. The newfound freedom was probably pretty distracting!
The last image is from this poll. Sarah's getting a hairstyle update next arc! I might do the same for some of the other characters too, if I can think of anything good.

Some outfits for the latter half of Chapter 20! There are a few missing here–I didn't plan those out, since they were only going to appear for a few panels.
Funnily enough, I forgot to use Sam's cute loungewear in image 2! It's a shame; I feel like it's so charming, haha. I'll just have to draw it in a future chapter!

This isn't the last we'll see of Kilo, by any means. What sort of wreckage will he and Yuma get up to–with no Coda there to make them second-guess? How will it affect the rest of the cast? The rest of the world?

End of Arc 3: The Big Three.

Well, well, well, I've zipped through this arc in less than two years! It started in October 2023, and I had a good stretch of free time to devote to longer uploads. It's looking like that won't be the case for the start of Arc 4, but them's the breaks!
Lately, I've been busy with work, so I am, once again, building in a decently long TDL pause between arcs! I'm not sure exactly how long it'll be, but I'm aiming to be back by the end of the year. In the meantime, I'll write up another short story (and some nice patron-exclusive content) for you patient readers to enjoy during this break! Keep an eye out for more. ^^
