BOOK 2/62 - Creation and Divine Force

Ring - 1st
Realm - Sol

The grand city gates rose even higher than the Colossus the Titans had fought. Its front was a deep black, almost as dark as the skin of their father. The five Titans and a Golem approached the city gates that dwarfed them.

But while the gates were eerily beautiful, the entities watching them from the guard tower were what had the five's entire attention.

"They're made of fire," Stryder muttered, awed. No one replied to her as everyone but the Golem were equally awed. Not even the Colossus, with its fiery form, was this beautifully made. Where the Titans had to attack to realize the fire burning around the Colossus was actually its skin and bones, here a gaze was enough. The entities were humanoid, with shapes that were familiar. The fire formed curves, muscles and shapes. Just like the Titans, their hair was made of fire itself. Each of the guards they were seeing were girded in black armor and clothing.

Horkirk was amused as the group approached the city and none of the five spoke a word or looked away from the Cinderii. It was even more amusing as the Cinderii guards on watch kept their gaze on the Titans as well without looking away.

The stony features of the golem cracked in a silent laugh before it stepped forward.

"Greetings Cinderii." His voice, stones grating against each other, was enough to break up the stare off. The Titans blinked, looking away while the Cinderii stepped away. One looked to Horkirk and the Golem was certain awe remained on its features.

"Greetings Stone One." Horkirk nodded to it.

"I am Horkirk, a Fire Golem. These are my Lords. Elder Titans of the realm".

The five Titans turned to him instantly. Stryder blurred, her palm blocking the golem's mouth or the fissure that was a mouth.

"Forgive our friend Finder, he jests a lot." Hellion spoke up quickly with a nod to Stryder. Blaze to the corner heaved a sigh and Thorin stepped forward.

"We would like to be allowed entrance."

The Cinderii said nothing for a moment then nodded. "The Cindorian city is open to all as long as they are friends. Are you friends?"

Thorin nodded. "More than friends."

The Cinder frowned, its condensed fiery features contorting. Then it nodded. "Proceed....Elder Titans." As the Titans nodded and walked past, none noticed the Cinderii testing the words on its lips. Its eyes narrowed and it looked to the Golem as it stepped through the gate.

"Amyr," It called out.

"Yes Captain," another Cinderii stepped closer. It was more lanky than the Cinderii called Captain.

"Make haste for the Library. Query the Head on this term. Elder Titan. Be back soon. Go."

The Cinderii hesitated then fled as the bright glare of the Captain met it.

The Titans, unaware of the Captain's curiosity, were feeling their own sense of curiosity and awe for the city they were walking through.

"It's more impressive than the Village," Mera commended.

"For obvious reasons," Hellion agreed, admiring the houses around. Each one of them was made of golden rock that was familiar to them. Solstone.

"It's a beautiful place, but we should hurry and get to the Leader of this place. They could help us find the Domain Thief faster." Thorin stopped their sightseeing. "Besides, we can look around once we've ascended."

"Yeah. Some of the other Elders have already ascended," Stryder agreed with a sigh.

"What... How? " Mera cried out in shock drawing several gazes towards them. If they'd been getting a few looks before now they had all eyes on them.

"Doesn't matter how they did it. What matters is they're ahead of us. Let's get this domain and ascend." Thorin looked at Blaze. The Titan was playing with a piece of gold core in his fingers. He stared back at Thorin and nodded.

“I say we get the guards to approach whoever's in charge in this city." Mera looked back to the gate where the stationed Cinder guards were.

"I doubt they would take five never before seen entities and a massive Pyroclastic Golem to meet whoever is in charge.” Hellion gave her a stare.

"Do we even need them or whoever is in charge to find the thief? I mean, how would they even know someone stole a Domain of Fire?” Stryder pointed out.

The Titans looked at the Cinder walking around with frowns.

"Horkirk." Thorin turned to the Golem. “Any ideas?"

Horkirk said nothing at first, simply standing there staring back at Thorin. Then stone grated against stone as he turned and faced Stryder. “You remember Ignis' story? The scent of a Primordial?"

The Titaness had a furrowed brow as she failed to get his point.

“Domains, your domains, are pieces, parts of a whole. Taken from the Primordials and set here to become the final pieces of a puzzle in your existence.” The golem glanced at the others and nodded as he saw them paying attention.

"What Ignis did not explain to you, was the demon he perceived.” The Golem stepped forward and leaned closer to Stryder. "It was more than a scent.” His fiery eyes burned brighter as he drew a large breath. “It was sensing the essence in the air. The very difference in the power that flowed through you."

Correcting his stance he formed a ball of fire and stretched it out to Stryder. “Find this difference and you will find the single domain in the city of Cinder.”

“Wait. Are you saying we can detect the domain in the air?” Hellion asked.

"No. I am saying she can." Horkirk focused on his face on Stryder, making her step back in fright. It didn't help when the rest also looked at her.

“I don't know how to find it. I don't even know if I can find it." She glared at Halkirk.

“You can. You just don't know how."

Her lips parted, ready to argue with the Golem when a palm grabbed her shoulder and squeezed a bit. "Whether you can do it or not, we should find someplace less crowded.” Hellion smiled and looked at Horkirk. "Besides, I'm sure Horkirk has more to explain.”

“We'll be needing somewhere to stay away from prying eyes,” Mera murmured her face roaming the city. Everyone followed her gaze to see many eyes on them.

"Let's go.”

Quickly the group matched forward.

Ring - 2nd
Realm - Torheim

It was time for another dungeon run. Ghar and Illyana, the final Elder Divine, stayed silent and looked ahead. Hanna though kept glaring at Isis and giving her a contemptuous look whenever she stared back.

Ghar glanced around feeling like he'd given everyone enough time to prepare. “Let's enter." Hearing no arguments, he stepped forward and vanished into the spatial wall that separated the dungeon from the land. The mountain scenery vanished, replaced by a thick forest with tall trees and muddy ground.

It wasn't a swamp, though Ghar felt it just had a little way to become one.

The sound of boots sloshing through water alerted him to the others gathering around.

“Same arrangement?" Ghar asked.

"I don't think fighting like that will help with their domains.” Ghar looked at Hanna then turned to Isis and Rhal.

"What do you think? Should we do our own thing or fight together?"

Rhal furrowed his brows and glared at Hanna but said nothing. She was right, but it didn't really sit right with him that she supplied the idea. “She's right," he grumbled. “Staying together won't let us accomplish whatever we need to accomplish to get our domains."

“That's assuming that we know what we need to accomplish," Illyana said with a sigh.

"Then we separate, but stay close enough to adjust if needed.” Ghar suggested after a moment of thinking. Looking straight at Isis, he frowned. "You might have to fight this time. Use your skill to protect yourself and if possible others in danger.”

Isis nodded. Fighting in games wasn't new to her so she didn't mind.

"Alright. Let's go."

The Divines spread out, forming a line as they moved into the dungeon. They'd run this dungeon a lot already so they were at least comfortable in knowing what it would offer in terms of danger. Though the danger was only to some. Hanna and Illyra were basically invincible in this terrain due to their domains. Ghar wasn't nearly as invincible but he was still in less danger. Rhal had his Domain of Light so he was covered a bit. Isis on the other hand, knew she was immensely f*cked.

Her skills didn't exactly have combat capabilities. Sure she could punch hard, move fast, had a good perception and fast thought process as a Divine. Yet she wasn't combat oriented. Or at least her skills weren't.

The Divine eyed the others with a sigh. While she knew they wouldn't let her die here, Ghar especially, she still felt a bit useless.

The bush and other flora to her left rustled. Isis stopped. It was too close to be anyone's prey. Which meant the first fight of the dungeon was going to be hers. Isis wasn't exactly scared. It was a game, as realistic as it was. She knew Ghar had his eyes on the fight, ready to intercept if he saw her in danger.

‘I just have to focus and think of how to win this,’ she thought. Isis already knew what creature she was expecting to rise from the bushes. ‘I don't possess Ghar's lightning, Hanna's control of wildlife, Illyria’s life drain or Rhal's Light sword.’ She clenched her fist. Blue energy flowed over her arm and across her skin. “It’s just you."

The bushes shook more, then exploded in leaves and branches as the Realm Touched showed itself. The thing was hunched, a bizarre compilation of bark, chitin, and scale forming its body. There was no head per say. Just a vaguely humanoid tree-like insect. Five limbs curved and shifted from its torso in a twisted manner.

It was fast. In a blink, it had crossed the short distance and slammed into her with the force of a bus. Claws raked over her shield as she flew like a bolt of thunder through the forest and into a tree.

“I'll give her one thing. That shield of hers can take a beating." Ghar heard Hanna mumble from beside him.

"Hmmh,” was his only reaction as the Divines watched the Realm Touched chase their Pantheon member like she was dinner.

Hanna peeked down at a slight static and crackle of white lightning that flickered off and on across the Thunderer’s fingers.

"Don't,” she whispered. Ghar turned to her with a blank gaze. "Let her finish this.”

The Divine tilted his head, gray eyes locked on her, before he looked back.

"You just want her dead don’t you? Are you thinking of picking us off one by one?" He kept his eyes on the Divine fighting as she dodged more pounces or got thrown around.

“That would have been a good idea before. Now? It's not."

Ghar felt a twinge of disbelief but said nothing.

“Look at her struggle. Look at her fight and run." Ghar frowned. He was not blind. He was looking obviously.

“Before…I'd have taken this moment to have you all under my grasp. But I can see that I was wrong about many things.”

"Like what?” Ghar found himself too curious to stay silent.

"Like this.” A somber expression flittered over her face. "I was once like her. Fighting to be relevant. To have control." A sigh, low and hidden escaped the Divine. "I succeeded. And yet I forgot what it was like.”

Ghar turned and stared at her.

"She is useless. Not completely. But useless nonetheless and she knows it. I know it. You know it. She wants to win. I want to win. We all want to win.” She looked him in the eye. "And that's why you can trust that I intend to help.” She turned back and Ghar noticed a slight quirk of her lips.

“Look." He frowned and turned around.

Isis was standing over the Realm Touched, her fists pounding down on it. But that wasn't what caught his eye. All of them could punch.

It was the absence of that blue glow that spoke of her shield around her body. Instead it was focused around her fists. Pulsing brightly, like two dim stars.

“When we fight. We either lose or win. When we fight with all our minds, and wills, we show results.”

"Are you trying to say we're more useful with our wills than without?”

Hanna looked away. Gahr frowned but said nothing.

“She got it." Illyra giggled.

Ghar and Hanna focused on Isis and sure enough they could feel it. The telltale feeling of a domain.

Isis stood up from the now deceased Realm Touched, the shield around her fists and arms fading and taking the blood on it along. Her eyes rose and met with Ghar's. “I did it.”

Lifting her right hand, the familiar blue glow flowed from her palm and everyone watched as it grew long and tall till it formed a blue spear. Isis focused on pouring in essence into the construct and something flipped. Like a switch activated.

“Two domains." Ghar said, smiling as the feeling of a second domain became apparent. Supporting this was the sudden glow of the spear as it turned a dazzling gold and solidifying.

Everyone watched as Isis walked up to Ghar and handed him the spear. “Thank you for being calm with us.”

The Divine receiving the Spear could only nod absent mindedly as he stared at the beautiful spear.
The shaft was made of Celestial Adamantite, glowing silver-blue with storm energy. The spearhead was a condensed lightning crystal, crackling with arcs of electricity. Several engravings of constellations and runes were etched along the shaft. There was a ring around the middle that emitted energy.

‘Elemental energy?’

“This…” Ghar couldn't help but stammer. He looked up into the rust gold eyes of the Divine and then to the blue eyed one behind him. His gaze met Rhal’s, who looked both sad and curious. Then he looked to Illyra who had her eyes on the spear.

“Can you make more of this?"

“Yeah." Isis nodded with a grin.

“How fast?”

Blue energy rose and then condensed into a long sword, the exact shape as Rhal's light sword and then it blazed gold before becoming physical. "As long as I have essence.”

A shock went through everyone. Ghar shivered. His mind went through many ideas and came back to the present. Turning, he found no one had the same look he was expecting them to have. Then he turned and met Hanna’s gaze. She understood what he was thinking.

This was a game changer. Ghar looked at the spear and the longsword Rhal was now taking and looking over. The shock on his face told Ghar what he needed to know.

‘The Elders will come to war with their domains. The most powerful domains and most intriguing ones will have a place in battle.’ He squeezed the spear. ‘With weapons like this..’

“Can you make…”

"Armors, tools, anything that can be crafted.”

Another jolt ran through not just him but everyone listening. Ghar gulped harshly. ‘This is what I entered this game for.’

“What is your domain!?" He asked.

Isis furrowed her brow and looked into space.

“Creation and Divine Force."

‘Oh we're set. We're gonna be the richest Pantheon in this game.’

And from the expressions on all their faces, he wasn't the only one realizing it. “Is this feeling, Greed?”

The Divines burst into laughter.

"Rhal, can I see yours?”

Rhal simply handed it over and took the spear. From the shock in his face, Ghar knew he was feeling the same thing he had.

“Does your Divine Force by any chance have a Portfolio of Protection?" He asked.

Isis nodded. “Yes. It does. Why?"

“The two weapons have skills and abilities for protection."

“Her domain affects her creations then." Illyra observed.

“This is big." Hanna muttered.

“Are you thinking what I am thinking?" He looked at everyone. Their eyes met his. “With more of this, we could field the Realm Dwellers. They'd be more powerful with these.”

Everyone nodded.

"It's a good plan. But I think we should plan with the idea that others may have something similar to this." Illyra suddenly doused their joy.

Ghar frowned, his level headedness returning. “You're right. We've not seen or confirmed if domains are exclusive or shared."

“Plus, various domains could have the same portfolio." Hanna added.

Everyone sighed.

“We have this benefit either way. We can use it." Rhal calmed them down.

Nods went round.

“Now, I think I'm left. Hopefully my domain is as good as her's.” Rhal retrieved the sword from Ghar and returned his spear. “Could you make a scabbard for this? Please?”He asked.
