Status Update & Roadmap
Added 2024-03-30 01:45:59 +0000 UTCJust finishing up tweaking some transitions and checking for bugs but the next update will be out to you this weekend. It does not have a lot of new content, just one new scene, but I've gone through and tweaked the transitions to improve the look a little in certain scenes and I fixed a lot of bugs with missing content.
That said, I have some big news. I finally bucked up and got a new GPU and got it installed and running, a much more difficult process than it should have been. It's taken me a while to figure out the right software settings and what I need to do workflow-wise to really take advantage of it. The good news is that I'm pumping out renders faster.
Now the news that might have mixed reviews: a few months back I put out a post to see if people would be interested in other game concepts. In the end, I decided not to go with either. Hypnoperv I had issues with because every idea I had for it just seemed to be too rapey in the end. Office Undercover I liked, but switching platforms would take too much time as the materials don't cross over and the sets have clipping issues. In other words, I don't want to sink the time into making it work. I liked the concept though but I decided to just write it out as a novella instead of a game. But I wanted to still experiment with optimizations and making a smaller game that could be completed quickly. I came up with 4 concepts and flushed out 3 of them. I decided to tackle them 2 at a time, so putting 2 on the back-burner, I'm happy to announce that I've begun work on two new games. The first, Daddy Daughter Cruise, this is a first-person game with a male protagonist. You surprise your teenage daughter with a cruise for her birthday. The two of you go on a wild and sexy adventure at sea for 7 days. The game, therefor is limited to only 7 days but a lot cam happen in that time and there will be a lot of different options and routes to give it replayability. The other game is Trust Issues, a married couple that works together, again first-person from the husband's perspective. Will you cheat on her? Is she cheating on you? Actions have consequences. You need to stay together as a couple, but do what it takes to get ahead and get out of debt. This game will have a similar playstyle to sandbox games but without the timesinking wandering elements. It also tracks income and expenses. Go broke and it's game-over.
I'll be developing these two games simultaneously with Next Steps. I have complete confidence that DDC will be complete by the end of this year, possibly TI too, but I won't make that promise. As far as access, I'm going to need more storage, so Next Steps will remain the same with public releases a few weeks after the private releases, but the other games will be for subscribers only. There will be online versions accessable by all tiers and $10+ tiers will have access to the offline PC versions. Once those games are complete, I will make them publicly available at a price and freely available to all patron tiers. I will also make android versions, but only when they are complete as all the images will have to be downscaled and compressed to fit.
I've already built the core gameplay, and all the characters and sets for each of these games and have started to produce the actual renders for the games. The prologue intros for each are completed and working now on primary content. In a month, I will release DDC v0.3 to patreon and the month after that, TI v0.2. Following that will be NS v0.04.

Yeah you do you, and creative fulfillment is very important, and all that, but the amount of times i find something cool i'm interested in and the dev goes "great glad you like it, now here is all this other stuff" is too damn high Probably not feeling like dealing with that again.
