Screenshot Saturday: Comix! (+ Patreon Rewards)

Thank you all so much for your feedback on Chapter 1 of my upcoming explorable! (If you missed it, I shared it in this Patron-exclusive post.) I'm trying to get into a regular-ish habit of sharing progress & setbacks, so here goes: another Screenshot Saturday!

This week, I finished all the interactives, writing, and art for Chapter 2. Chapter 1 was The Science of Spaced Repetition, Chapter 2 is The Art of Spaced Repetition. First I show why SR works, then I show how SR works (& best practices for SR).

There's only one chapter left to do, and it'll be much shorter than Chapter 1 & 2. The final Chapter will let you make your own Spaced Repetition cards, and offer downloadable goodies to help you get started with SR today. (Downloadables like: a phone/laptop wallpaper to remind you to stick to your habit, a set of SR flashcards to get started, the apps/tools/calendar you need to do SR, etc)

All in all, here's my progress:

So that means I'm... halfway done? Not sure. I need to learn to "underpromise and overdeliver", so let's say this will be done by Halloween. I'm pretty sure I can get it done a week or more before then, but let's really, really underpromise on that. Sorry, and thank you so much for sticking with me through this!

Oh, and speaking of Patreon rewards, I just sent out a survey to those of you who picked the limited $10/mo reward, asking what Peep you want. And for those who picked the $5/mo reward, here's your Polygon avatars for the month!

(Note: make sure you've actually selected the reward on the Patreon page. If you're pledging $5+/mo but didn't select the reward, Patreon's tools can't tell me about it! If you're pledging $5+/mo but missing on the above page, please let me know!)

Anyway, that's this week, in 1 GIF, 4 screenshots, and a wall of text! 🎉

Thank you all again so much for supporting me, encouraging me, and giving honest feedback and cool suggestions <3 We're almost done with this; stay tuned!

Actually...

QUESTION FOR Y'ALL: Would you like to see more educational stuff, even if not interactive (e.g. zine-comics like How Do We Learn) – or more interactive stuff, even if not educational? (e.g. story-games like We Become What We Behold)

Comments

Thanks Martyna! :) I asked the question because my educational+interactive projects take *months*, and I thought it'd be nice to fill the in-between time with maybe very short comics or minigames. Maybe educational comics (which would take much, much less time than educational games) could be a fun side project to do! Also, to paragraph-break on Patreon, you have to do SHIFT-Enter. Ya it's weird

Hi, Nicky, I love your loopy app! Would love to be able to configure the variables even more, to put actual data in. :) I acknowlede one can put more arrows on each, but thickness of arrow could possibly represent value/data? (Would like to explain the operational difference between 4F and 4D business strategy as explained in Ballè and Jones et.al "Lean Strategy" for any given business) https://www.amazon.com/Lean-Strategy-Competitive-Innovation-Sustainable/dp/1259860426

It's cool to see these updates from you ^^ Pretty interesting to see how you work, how you organize your stuff. Good work, man! (How do I paragraph break here? Damn.) Personally, if I had to, I'd lean towards the educational side. It's always good to learn sth potentially useful. BUT! If you have sth you'd like to make, sth that matters to you - then, educational or not, I'd like you to make that thing <3
