Changes to the plan...

I'm shooting to get a Patron's-only vlog out next weekend where I go into further detail, but I just wanted to update everyone on a few things...I'm still working hard on my next big scripted video (god game retrospective/documentary), but it's gotten much bigger and has a wider scope than I imagined originally.

The unexpected (but welcome) interview with Ted Peterson, and a couple weeks of mastering and editing that video, combined with coming down with a cold and having my internet go out for half a week last week, I'm definitely behind schedule.

Per the plan I hatched a month or two ago, I was shooting for an October release of Playing God, my god game documentary, then a video covering Fallout spiritual successors around the release of Fallout 76 (because I'm so counter-culture like that 😁). This isn't going to happen the way I planned due to the scope creep and delays I just mentioned. So here is roughly my revised plan:

This is definitely a shift of gears from what I was planning, but I will make it a rule not to go overboard with these individual reviews. This, along with my cyberpunk reviews, will be my "quick" series for now, and am aiming at creating each one, start-to-finish within a week or two. I've done it before, so I just have to get into that zone again and do it again.

I think the first game I will cover is INSOMNIA: The Ark, as I'm already 6-8 hours into the game from my livestreams, and have already begun to form an opinion about the game. Several more hours of gameplay and more research about the title should make it possible to knock out a review relatively quickly, compared to the colossal videos I've been making as of late.I'm going to try to force myself to work on smaller videos and bigger videos simultaneously, so that I can get my release schedule more regular again.

You can expect the occasional big video like Why Fallout Isn't Fallout, but also smaller videos like one-off reviews, short featurettes, etc. I miss being able to form an idea and post it on YouTube within a week or two, that kept me active and in good morale.  Let me know what you guys think.

I'll also do a vlog this weekend and maybe show some teaser info about my upcoming videos. Stay tuned!

Yeah that was at the heart of sci-fi and fantasy, displacing real-world concepts and problems into an alien setting, where we could see it with a new and distant pair of eyes, outside of our accepted day-to-day lives. Brilliant, really.

Remember when science fiction was dieselpunk, dystopian and retro-futuristic? Well this was Fallout. Remember Isaac Asimov's works of literature where he raised questions and determined rules of ethics for robots? Aldous Huxley's Brave New World where he viewed our future as a exaggerated social hierarchy, a consumer society pre-programmed from birth with biological manipulations, unethical psychological manipulations and wierd reproductive technology. Questioning moralaspects in ethics where human society of the distant future is attempting to play God. Doesn't it sound all too familiar? Doesn't sound so distant to me. This was science fiction back when people saw our distant future as a fractured society, as a dystopia that was undesirable and terrifying. An idea that we as human beings living in a modern age will be forced to change our views on ethics and moral. All these ideas are not so far from the cyberpunk genre that you're covering already.
