No Charge This Month!

Hey all,

The short version: I’m turning off donations for this month, and you shouldn’t be charged by my account for the end of May/beginning of June cycle.  Nothing serious, just a lot of life stuff has happened and while I’m working on a video right this moment it won’t make the deadline for this month even in rough draft format.  I’m not comfortable collecting on a month where nothing was made.

The long version: I’m working on a script that requires a little bit more care than usual which has slowed things down some, but I was on track to get it done over the holiday weekend… until most everyone at my office was laid off and I got sick.  That one-two punch of job hunt panic and medicine-head-ness has sort of knocked me off my game enough that the episode probably won’t be out till this weekend at the earliest.  As ever, it’s important to me that you trust your money is going to make a great show, so given that nothing got made it didn’t make sense to charge this month.  We’ll be right back on schedule ASAP, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

As a consolation prize, though, I’ll link to the pilot of a show I’m still experimenting with.  The reception to it by my test audience was, uh, mixed (I believe the most cutting and apt criticism was that I improvised the parts I should have scripted and scripted the parts I should have improvised). So it’s been shelved while I figure out how to make it work properly. I still want to figure out how to cover the small, weird, broken, glitchy, beautiful games out there in a way that isn’t driven by cynicism, so I’ll keep futzing with it until it works as a side thing.  For now, though, enjoy this stilted half-hour of me playing some literally random games: https://youtu.be/reIdE6qO-Y4
