My friends, I added the loose dirt, dried mud and everything, and I think the model is ready to be cast in resin!
The inspirational photo shows the tank rather clean, I suppose this is due to heavy rains washing off most of the mud on the sides, but then again... not all WW1 tanks were completely covered in mud all the time!
I tried to post-shade the mud just like on the diorama, but this resulted in a rather smooth, airbrushed look. Who would expect that, right? π So I had to get some "help" from Ammo, this time Thick Soil from the Heavy Mud range. The dark stains were added using the same oil paints like on the base - Sepia and Industrial Earth.
The weathering matches the ground IMO, at least for the most part. I might paint some of the earth clumps in different colors, but that decision is gonna be easier when the diorama is more "finished".
Lastly, and this is very important, and, unfortunately, sad... tomorrow my street will be without electricity from 8am to 3pm. This kinda shatters my plan to put all of this into a video and make it ready for Friday. I'll do my best, but sadly, it most likely won't be ready on Friday at 6PM, maybe a few hours later, maybe during the night π£
