My friends, I was never this excited about a figure painting technique before!

I simply picked out the most washed out highlights with a more vivid tone, emphasized the shallower details that were too "weak" for an airbrush, outlined the details and the uniform was pretty much done!!

This method also works on smaller details if they have enough definition - for example the "socks" or whatever they are were painted in the same way. Fast and easy!

The black and white coat doesn't work on all surfaces, though. For leather - be it the boots or the pistol holster, it looked like crap. Luckily these details are small and easy enough to be painted in the more traditional way using manually constructed lights and shadows.

I already tested this method out on the Jagdpanther crew, I used the glazing over BW on their faces, so that's what I'm gonna do here as well.

I'd say with this method you can easily paint a very presentable figure in one day - but I always become hesitant when trying new methods, so I always take things slow as a precaution (we all know how it's easy to get carried away!)

And some final words of wisdom: use paint drying retarder! Holy crap, I don't know why I never thought about it before, but it makes a world of difference! Not only it's easy to blend the paints, use a black brown almost as an actual enamel wash around the seams, but it also works as flow improver and glazing medium, so it's so much easier to paint smoother transitions!
