Hey Guys,

Thanks once again for supporting this channel. I used your pledges to buy new glasses this month, which were desperately needed.  I didn't realize how much I was leaning forward to see the screen. My eyes and back thank you!

Today I found this video, which I had completely forgot about. It was one of the first drafts of the plane windows video, which now has over 1 million views.  I'm just laughing at how bad it is. The music, the script, the pacing. Everything is so bad, but god damn I am proud of it. I was trying. That's what mattered.

As Jake the Dog says:

I made that video in one of the worst periods in my life. My best friend had died earlier that year from a car crash.  I had relapsed back into panic attacks. I had dislocated my shoulder and lost the one thing that helped me battle my anxiety (sports). I hated my job. I was just really not enjoying life.

A month after making this video I quit my job.  I had a six month notice period (madness I know), so that gave me until March of this year to figure out what I wanted to do.  I saw hope in this little video and kept working on my craft. Then I released the draft you all saw in January and it really reinforced my belief in this channel.

Since then the channel has grown beyond my wildest expectations. I am so thankful for every single one of you.

I started writing this, because I have found myself in a bit of a low point again. I'm really not enjoying being back in Ireland. I miss the life I had in Malaysia. All my friends have emigrated. My Mother and my Brother live abroad too. I'm having difficulty seeing the road ahead, but I took some inspiration from that video. I could never have known that a year after making that crappy video that I would have over 150k subs.

I'm just telling myself that things will get better as long as I keep trying. Hope you are all having a nice day.

Brian

Keep it going! There's so much excellent engineering left to deconstruct!

Hopefully the new glasses will help you "see" your path. I vote: Move to Canada. It's awesome here!
