Update
Added 2016-05-31 08:56:50 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
Just thought I would give you all a quick update. I'd also like to get your feedback on a topic close to my heart.
So the decision has been made. I am flying home to Ireland next Monday. It wasn't an easy decision, but it's something that needed to be done to grow this channel to it's full potential. I am currently packing and saying my goodbyes and spending as much time as possible with my girlfriend. I also have a friend's wedding this Friday in the rain forests of Borneo. So very little work is getting done this week. The next video will be delayed, as a result.
The second thing I wanted to talk about is war. The last video on the B-2 is generating a lot of negative comments, mostly arguments between viewers and I really don't like it. I hate war. My mother was nearly killed in the car bombings of Dublin in the 70s. I have seen what war has done to my country and I hate it.
Unfortunately, our most significant advances in engineering came while death was on our doorstep. The Irish invented the first modern submarine to use against the British. Planes saw significant development during the world wars and the boring machine, that made the piston cylinders of the industrial revolution possible, was invented to bore cannons. I want to be able to talk about these topics, but I want my viewers to know my stance on war. I was thinking of making a vlog-style video to discuss this topic and ask my subscribers what their thoughts were. Do you think this is a bad idea? I won't be charging ye for it. I'll probably delete it and move it to my second channel after a day or two.

Engineering is more than just the technical aspects of how something works, the things engineers design have an impact on people and everything arounds us. Being aware of the impact whether it is a Norman door or B-2 bomber is a part of Real Engineering to me. I believe we can all use more mindfulness and empathy in our lives, and I look forward to hearing what you have to say. Thank you for the work you do!
