2025-11-29 13:41:13 +0000 UTCand from what i know she has described graceland too as a love song about being there for a friend who is struggling and i think it's inspired/about her boygenius band mate julien baker (her and lucy dacus actually do the backing vocals on graceland too) they all perspective tracks in their discography where they all have backup vocals with each other actually. i think you'd enjoy some of the boygenuis stuff !

2025-11-28 04:30:12 +0000 UTCyay!!! i completely get what you mean by her writing and expression!! it is very easy to almost get lost in the story telling and its almost ambiguous and hyper specific at the same time?? like kyoto is actually about her relationship with her father and punisher is about elliot smith and kind of talking about fame in a way. this is definitely a sit with record but im glad you enjoyed it!! also as an additional little punch for moon song she described it as "wanting someone to treat you badly because at least they’ll treat you at all" and that shift my brain when i read it lol
