I definitely think you viewed this movie the wrong way imho. I get your viewpoint on it but Rose was definitely being driven mental and wasn’t making the correct choices at all simply due to her mental stage. Her mind was most definitely being toyed with, like a prior comment said. I think it being viewed in a movie is definitely probably different to experiencing it firsthand. You got to notice how calm Rose was in the beginning-1st part of the movie. She was losing her sanity by the second half of the movie though so she would not be behaving rationally.
I assume the experience would absolutely be different if it were actually happening to myself rather than watching it in a movie.
I’m glad you began to warm up to her near the end tho with the scene with her mom and whatnot

I want to apologize to Christene in advance for what I'm about to say...
You lowkey pissed me off to the reaction of this movie. Rose is being manipulated and toyed with by this entity, leaving her stressed, anxious, paranoid, AND scared 24/7 and you're more worried about Trevor, who called her crazy and blamed it on "genes". Then you call her a CHEATER just because the cop showed concern for her.
I understand the knife incident and then the birthday mishap with the cat and YES, that would make me scared to be around Rose, but NOT ONCE did I hear you say "Rose should have been taken to a psychiatric facility" or Damn, Poor Rose! , instead it was "She deserves whatever gonna happen to her" and a lot of "this Heffa is getting on my nerves!".
As someone with mental health issues (depression and anxiety), I was hoping to see you be empathetic towards Rose, who was also battling her own demons from childhood, but all I got was vitriol.
I hope you're not like this when you watch Smile 2. That's all.
Again, I'm sorry for this comment and I hope I don't get banned for expressing my opinions. I'm still a fan !
