A quick note for our Mac and Linux users: We see your comments and requests for compatible versions for Mac and Linux. Currently, we don't have access to any machines that are running Linux, or any M-series Macs to develop and test Goo Engine builds on. So for now, development for those OS have stalled. For Mac users, we have Goo Engine 4.1.1 on Mac M1 and M2.
Christmas has come early for our Patrons - we’ve updated Goo Engine to be compatible with Blender 4.4! All your favorite Goo Engine features can now be used in tandem with Blender 4.4, which introduced Action Slots, updated VSE interface, and geonodes improvements to the main build.
This new version also features a splash screen with a beautiful (and entirely 3D) forest from an upcoming project! This short is unlike anything we've ever made, and can't wait to share it with you soon.
Goo Engine 4.4 is still considered “experimental”, so be sure to join the Discord if you haven’t already and report any bugs or problems you encounter while using it. If you’re using any of our custom rigs (Yin, Yang, Emily, or Amethyst), we recommend you stay using Goo Engine 4.3.21 while we work on updating the rigs.
Speaking of Discord, did you know that we hold exclusive streams for our Patrons every month on our Discord server? Next Thursday, December 18th at 8PM CST, one of the developers behind our Goo Engine patches will be answering your questions about creating VFX, custom shaders, or building and implementing the best workflow for your pipeline. Cody is an absolute wizard behind the scenes of the studio, so it’s a stream you DON’T wanna miss.
Thanks again for supporting the development of Goo Engine! Make sure you’re following us on Twitter and subscribed on YouTube so you don’t miss anything coming up!
