Oh man, 1982 sounded legendary. I admire your genuine appreciation for the original Tron. I don't connect with it quite, but it's such a fascinating movie to learn about. There's a surprisingly big aspect of Ares that pays some nostalgia to that original movie, so you may also really enjoy that.

2025-10-30 02:03:00 +0000 UTCThe original Tron came out when I was 12 years old. It was life-changing to me at the time! I can totally get how it doesn't hold up today, but man, in 1982, to a 12 year old, it was pure magic. As I recall, that was the summer of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Tron, Superman and (maybe) E.T. What a magical year to be 12 years old! I liked Tron Legacy for the music and visuals, and also just being brought back to the Tron world. The Ares trailer left me thinking it will be a disappointment because it's happening in our world. But I think I'll just lower my expectations and take in the music and visuals and see what happens. Tron will always have a special place in my heart. I even went to Disney World by myself one day to ride the Tron Lightcycles ride. I had way too much fun as a middle aged dude by himself in the Magic Kingdom LOL! I had a season pass, so why not?
