Early Access: Level Boost In TBC

Got another hour to spare? Here's the result of the past ~3 weeks of my life! The level boost is a huge change with classic tbc going forward, and as you'd expect I have a lot to say about it. As you'll see in this video overall I am against the boost(surprise surprise), but I want to stress I'm not against the players who want them.

This is a subject that has gotten really nasty on the forums and various 3rd party websites - people seem to take it personally if you dare challenge them. Combine that with my outspokenness made for a VERY stressful time editing it overall, but I felt like it definitely had to be made.

There are some errors with it, I might tone down the spice, and I have some more stuff to add if you can believe it but overall this is pretty close to the final product. I will be taking a short break to decompress a bit as this video did drain me quite a bit. Not too long, maybe a week or so?

As always any and all feedback is welcomed, but most importantly, enjoy!

I tried starting a related discussion on /r/classicwow . Though it was quickly downvoted by people claiming that increased in-game monetization is inevitable and (apparently) not even worth discussing. I'll share it here as well, as I imagine the madeseason community would be more interested in at least engaging with these ideas: https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwow/comments/m76qvb/how_the_boost_affects_promotion_at_blizzard/

You are damned good at making videos. An important aspect for me in WoW has always been getting familiar with my character through leveling and learning how their class's mechanics work. There's nothing wrong with a bunch of bad high level players running around, but I can imagine lots of the "new players who want to play with their friends already" getting frustrated because they have too many buttons and don't know what they all do, so they get overwhelmed and quit. WoW is a pretty convoluted experience to get into if you're not starting at level 1, at least for me anyway. I think it will bring in fast cash for Blizzard at the start, but probably end up ultimately dipping their subscriber count substantially after only a month or two.

That means a lot. This probably came across in the video, but I really feel like I'm feeding myself to the wolves with this one. It's hard to gauge constructiveness when your own emotions are so tied to something - glad it came off in in a constructive manner. Thanks Elly!

How does your editing become more and more impressive to me every time? what is this magic..? Secretly Mads is mage? :o But seriously, really nice to watch! Im so happy you are able to bring across all of the facts and concerns me and probably many others have in a polite, structured and clear way. I hope this gives the community something to discuss in a mature way but we'll see :D Your fans are usually friendly people so hoping for a good comment section. Hope this video will get many views because it needs and deserves it!

As a video on a super divisive topic on World of Warcraft, I found this video confusing. Only constructive criticism was given, both sides of the argument were addressed, and not even once did I hear a personal attack on someone's character or a request for people to kill themselves.
