1.06 Update

Hey, everyone. Sorry for the lack of communication on Patreon this past few weeks.

Had a lot on my plate lately and didn't really have a lot of time to work on the VN and adding a creative block in the mix doesn't really help either. I wanted to post an update or two on Patreon but since I haven't really gotten anything solid to bring into the table, it just didn't feel right...

Frankly, I'm tired and disappointed with myself in making promises that I can't seem to keep regarding the VN. So from now on, it would be best if I simply don't make any at all (Or at least a lot less of it.)

I am already in the work of creating 1.07 and hopefully if time permits should be released a few days after the new year {Meaning the public release will be delayed until then.) Take this with a grain of salt...

Here is the link to the build:

Thank you for your patience and support. Have a good day.

PS- Cards are back on the table, so if you have yet to receive your card, do send me a message. Thank you.

take your time man. we don't mind a hold-up if you can continue happily making the story, if we only cared about the story we wouldn't be here supporting you!

Been enjoying the novel so far. Can't wait for Dave's route to unlock/ see his eventual Shirtless scene. ;)

Another thing that might help is find yourself a co-collaborator. Just like the gym and working out. Having someone you can bounce ideas off of or ask their opinion on how a character is developing or where they might see the plot going from xyz point. That kind of support group is what have driven mankind for ages to over come any challenge. You'll feed off each other's energy and creativity and become better at your skill sets together. Having someone who will tell you the truth is also as important. If something isn't working out quite the way you envisioned they will definitely be able to point a big red arrow at the obvious you're too close to the source to see. ("Yes that is in fact the trunk of a tree you're staring at,. However, if you happen to take a step back you'll perchance notice it is in fact the shin of a very pissed off Ent. You might want to get off the flower bed it was working on before you stomped through it.")

Best advice I can give you, don't think of "updates" as in story content. That never ending chase of "Release XX,XXX words this month!". It is nothing but a trap that many new VN developers get themselves caught. An update could be all artwork. It could be refinement of work already written. Maybe you thought of a cool mechanic you want to bring into the VN and you spend the time on it. Maybe you spent the entire time just fixing art mistakes that only you ever see because you've stared at your artwork for hours on end. Whatever it is that drives you to be creative and enjoy the project you've brought forth from your imagination into reality. Focus on that. Hitting goals/numbers/metrics will only ever drive you insane. Leave those for the ones who enjoy that insanity and focus on what made you begin this journey at the start. Pull from that creative drive buried under all the expectations that get perceived to be placed upon you and break yourself free from that block. You've already succeeded in the project. You haven't failed. You've passed many others who have fallen into the void before you. Its all down hill from here. Enjoy the culture icon that you've created. I've seen this VN referenced in a few others out there. You've already impacted the entire community. Be proud of that. Well done!

Drake, you're doing great!! Don't worry and don't be so harsh on yourself, cause this will lead me to gather people and give you unwanted love and caresses and supportive hugs that will squeeze you. So hear me up: you're doing GREAT! No think about promises, no think about bad, just think about the great results

Dude, don't put so much pressure on yourself! We'd rather you be healthy than burned out. Take all the time you need

Sorry but not seeing an time issue with your releases so far. I been enjoying it in a timely fashion so, no worries. Also did the trio get toothier? I do think those fangs have gotten bigger! And if I hear someone say "To better to eat you my dear.", I will freak!

You're well within time compared to some of the stuff I've waited for personally. Don't pressure yourself like that, you're delivering lots of content really fast already.
