Hey guys!
In this tutorial I will show you how I draw clothes, and this time more specific a sweater!
Step one: draw the base (ignore the horrible line art)

Step two: shade with a darker color. Here I have used a hard round brush on 50% opacity, to get those harsh lines where it's needed

Step three: blend the shadows, with whatever blending method you prefer. Some prefer smudging, but I prefer the color picking technique I have showed you earlier. For the color picking technique I use a soft round brush on 50% opacity!

Step four: go over the shadows with an even darker color, but this time with a soft round brush, and on 30% opacity. This is just to create more depth in the shadows. Add some shade around edges where shadows would naturally go too, like for example under the elbow, around the neck collar, by the waist etc.

Step five: add highlights. Add highlights in between the wrinkles. Use a slightly brighter color than the base. Use whatever shading brush you prefer. I use a standard soft round brush on 30% opacity. Tip: I always use "pressure for opacity" when I shade. That way I can be really light on my hand and add more intensity when I put more pressure in. And then it's very easy to build up shades and highlights.
Repeat the highlighting step with brighter and brighter colors until you're satisfied.

Step six: Use whatever tools you have in your program to correct colors etc. I use camera raw in photoshop, and use color noise reduction, turn up the clarity, turn up the exposure and turn down the shadows. All things I turn up/down slightly, not too much

Step seven: If you want to add texture to the fabric, the last step is the place to do that. If not, you're done after step six!
Add texture to the clothing. This specific sweater is supposed to be a woolen sweater, so I have used the brush called "fabric texture1" from my fabric textures brush pack. I use the brush on 50% opacity, and have used a slightly darker color than the darkest shadows. For the edges on the sleeves and on the collar I have used the one called "small fabric fold effect2"

Step eight: after this I again go in with the camera raw tool and turn up clarity, just to make the fabric texture pop more. And that's it! I hope that helped!
