Far Future Snippets - Completely Normal First Meeting
Added 2024-12-12 20:43:44 +0000 UTCWith 17% of the vote, Gwen wins the Far Future Snippet vote for December. (I think this might be the first thing she's ever won?)
So, remember that long potential conversation you could have with Adrian about looking up parapsychology and ghost hunting groups to deal with your haunted apartment? That ended up going nowhere because the demons dragged you into Silent Hill and set said apartment on fire?
Yeah, here's what it was actually foreshadowing.
The concrete crackles beneath each of your echoing footsteps, stony jagged fragments of the floor at war with the fallen plaster from the crumbling walls and ceilings. But is this even truly concrete with its distinctive red tint? Small tendrils of dust swirl in the dim ambient light with each shuffling step. Something faintly moans from beyond the darkened doorway to the right.
Wind, just the wind. You very much ignore that as you slowly approach a shadowy intersection in the hallway ahead. But before you can reach the cross passage, a pale figure floats into view, blocking off your way forward.
As for going back... let's not even think about that.
"Woe, woe..." the woman bemoans as she glides across the floor in her bare feet. Golden hair forms a wavy halo around her face as crystalline tears streak down her cheeks. Her form is clad in a short hospital gown of the purest white, filmy and almost fluttering in an unseen breeze.
Wait, that's not a hospital gown... it's a rather frilly negligee that ends in a lacy hem halfway down her thighs.
"Woe betide those who don't tune in to our Walpurgis Night special. This is Gwen Reynard livestreaming from the ruins of Hart Island Women's Asylum!" the strange apparition says as she whips out a selfie stick and strikes a cutesy pose, winking with the tip of her tongue poking coquettishly between her lips.

What.
"Too suspicious. Merlin, frag her!" I command.
"But Walpurgisnacht isn't until the end of the month," I protest.
"With special guest star, MC Surname!" I announce while jumping into camera view.
"It's the middle of the day... why are you wearing a nightie?!" I ask only the most important of questions here.
I know what time it is. It's time to start playing the Ghostbusters theme music again.
I simply point at her and scream like a banshee.
