Something a bit different?
Added 2021-01-19 20:42:37 +0000 UTCI had this idea as a way to kind of spark a little creativity, but it's not the normal kind of process I would do. Here's the setup:
A popular video game has recently gotten a new patch. The patch includes more intelligent AI in regards to NPC's (non playable characters). This upgrade however, makes one of the NPC's far more self-aware. She's a forest elf who would normally just give you a map to navigate the woods and would also serve as the reset mechanic for said forest. With the update though, she sees all these humans materialize in her world, then change into whatever character they design, then, start on quests which ruin her homeland. After months of this, the elf comes up with an idea. Now, when characters are about to enter the forest, she gives a map, and a special crystal. Initially, nothing changes. Once you log off the game however, the crystal begins to work.
Rather than a long, drawn out transformation, the player finds that, within a minute of logging off, their body in the real world matches exactly their character in the game. Thing is, there's no reality shift for the world. The only thing that changes are whatever clothes you have on at that moment (assuming the character you turn into would wear clothes that is).
Here's where I'm not sure whether or not people would enjoy this concept. Rather than focusing on the transformation aspect, I'd focus on the quality of life after the transformation. If a particular model is popular, maybe I'd go back and do a quick transformation sequence and also show what they looked like before. Maybe do an OC comparison with measurements and stuff.
Here's my question: Does this sound appealing to y'all?

It's not a YCH or a comic, yet. it' works like this: You log onto the game. Upon logging in you choose your race and personalize your character. ALl kinds of fantasy races are available. Once you log out though, you are now in the exact same body as the character you created, but in the real world. THere's no reality shift, so when someone sees you, they freak out. You now have to try and make due with whatever body you have.

2021-01-21 08:07:33 +0000 UTCThe purpose is both of those. She wants the humans to stop coming into the game and leave her land alone. If people were altered to their game form, the word would get out and people would stop logging on.

2021-01-20 04:57:43 +0000 UTCI think it would be funny if a engineer was excited about having the body of a warrier, but had no knowledge of any of the technical knowledge needed for his job. The crystal turned him into a warrier but took away his non-warrier knowledge

Also, that's a hella strong magical elf lol, wouldn't be surprised if she made it into our world and started randomly handing out crystals to make it like hers XD
