Next Goal (Book 2) (Page 179)

~~~(POV: Scott Autumn)~~~
~~~(Location: Forested Path Back To Immortalitas, The Keynote)~~~

My two friends aren't speaking to each other as we walk the path. Aurora is in my hand as she's projecting herself through the Aurora Holder MK.1. She's looking ahead and doing her best to keep her cool.

She's still very angry with Durado for leaving her in The Local Access Point. But that's in the past now, and it's time that we kept moving forward. I'm looking forward to what Aurora has access to now. She knows where we're at and where we're going.

"I just want to say for the record, if she wasn't so mean to me, I wouldn't have forgotten about her. It was so peaceful inside Immortalitas without her around."

That was a bad move Durado...

I look down at my hand and see the shaking hologram of Aurora. He's mad. Very mad. She slowly stands up from her sitting position and turns her head to look at the Legendary Bounty Hunter.

It's safe to say there is fault on both sides, but Durado really shouldn't have forgotten about her. It's pretty clear he did it on purpose.

"If it weren't for Scott... I'd have killed you by now... And as to why I'm mean to you, there are plenty of reasons you give for such actions."

I can't disagree with that either. Durado acts a certain way when it comes to Aurora. He intentionally provokes her, and that's not a way to act toward someone. Aurora, on the other hand, shouldn't be threatening his life.

"Listen, both of you. How about we just walk back to the ship in silence and make sure that nothing more is said about what's happened since I've been gone."

I'm disappointed in them, to be sure. They can't act like mature adults, and that's what they are. Adults. And I feel like I'm some sort of mother who has to get in between each of the children before a fight breaks out. Only I don't have any help dealing with them.

All I get in return for my question is the aforementioned silence, and, for now, everything is calm. But they're gonna have to work out their problems with each other eventually.

Durado started it, to be sure, but that doesn't mean Aurora should've bought into his crap as she has. And that's something she needs to be responsible for as well.

"That's more like it, you two. I'm glad that you're listening to someone with reason. When we get back to the Immortalitas, we'll check out all the information Aurora has access to now. We'll find out where we're at and where we need to be."

Our goal is to find someone on The Keynote that has access to The Coda Arrey.

It doesn't take us very long, but we eventually make it back to Immortalitas, and on the Command Deck. Aurora hops into the Terminal and starts up all the ship's systems, and multiple screens light up from the information she's giving the ship.

As The Primordium text continues shooting across the screens, I'm absorbing all the information and memorizing it. It's a collective history of everything that's happened on The Keynote, and every function it serves.

"I never imagined that The Keynote and The Coda Arrey it was connected to was so... How should I put it... Deep? That's the best way. There aren't any words to describe what I'm seeing and learning at this very moment."

As the words leave my mouth, Aurora giggles, and all I hear from Durado is an annoyed sigh.

"We're currently located here."

Aurora pulls up a map of The Keynote. And the galaxy-sized structure is something out of a book or game. Which is ironic.

"The place with all the information we need and the access to The Coda Arrey is hidden. But we can construct a map from these 7 locations. They each hold classified data that I couldn't get access to."

Aurora proves to be the most valuable person in our little group. While I prove to be useful in getting access to Primordium Structures and locations. I couldn't do all this as fast without her.

"The closest location seems to be 27,000 light years north. Prepare to move Immortalitas there on The Keynote."

We'll have to lift off The Keynote and move there.

As Aurora starts up the ships, all of a sudden. We lose power.

"This doesn't look good..."

Way to point out the obvious Durado...
