Clearly, this band has become one of my favorites this year, and this release hits so good, the kind of music that makes me think differently about how I personally play and write music. So many new ideas from the melodies and chords on these tracks, im excited to see which songs i come back to along side the Og album. let me know which ones yall are rockin with, and sorry for the late upload. cya tomorrow for twenty one pilots!

I had an analysis of Mr. Mountebank where it’s layering his feelings about fame and success with a criticism of someone compromising their values for those things, maybe his ex, given the last lines of the song. “The change is on your plate” this is their doings, showing up despite losing respect for them. I was also soooo into the way the cuck verse was done, bc Djo’s lyrics aren’t usually crass, so it’s extremely effective as emphasis and to put more emotional weight on the song as a whole. I had to re listen and got more meaning out of it retrospectively.
