"Blue" - Joni Mitchell *FULL ALBUM STREAM*

hey folks! so here's our first dive into some older albums that musician friends of mine have recommended to me. Today we hit Blue by Joni Mitchell! I know tons of singer songwriters homies have pinned Joni as a big inspo for them so I was excited to get into this as my first Joni album. Definitely not a style of songwriting I'm super familiar with and was very much out of my comfort zone instrumentally but I can say I feel confident in enjoying it but I look forward to it the most on the second and third listens. I just think some music isn't really perfect for "reactions", it's more for sitting and contemplating what each message means to you individually. Should we do more albums from back around this time? What would you recommend?

Little late to the party, but I highly recommend checking out Aja by Steely Dan if you're not familiar! The production is way ahead of its time, and Steely Dan had a fascinating process in the studio that I think you'd find super interesting. Iconic album for so many reasons.

If I'm thinking of an older album that I want everyone to listen to it's always going to be "Nilsson Schmilsson" by Harry Nilsson. I own it on every medium possible. I love Harry and so many people know his music from covers than they really realize.
