I get where Ikuo was coming from and he meant well. When you have several people living together and some of them are having issues it can disrupt the vibe of the whole house. You do walk on eggshells not knowing how to act with them. I also understand that Shun has a lot of trauma and he’s expecting Dai to leave like everybody else. Thankfully Dai is the type that will allow him time to heal.

The trouble is just that Shun doesn't know how to communicate his feelings properly and instead resorts to being cold. I think that's what's great about him being with Dai, because Dai is showing him how to communicate in a more healthy way.

Shun has faced rejection/abandonment his whole life, never feeling that anyone is his. I know people don't like "belonging" to people, but in many aspects, some of us have that mentality without actually saying it like your family, for example, you had them since birth and your parents claimed you at birth. Dai wearing his shirt meant that he felt that they had a sense of belonging to each other and claimed that they were together. Dai refusing to wear it made him feel like he was rejecting that they were anything serious to each other. Again it is trivial and to most of us seems petty, but as Shun said himself he knows that most people will not understand it but it has significance to him.

2024-07-31 06:25:10 +0000 UTCI'm only not hard on Shun because he never had an example of a loving relationship/family unit growing up and has only been out on his own for 4 or 5 years so not only is that not enough time to witness healthy communication within a relationship, but he feels unlovable and doesn't understand why someone could love him which is hard to deal with. All that makes me wonder why the heck he chose to be on a show which adds even more uncomfortable interactions and scenarios for him? I'd find it almost impossible to have deep conversations with a camera in my face so it explains even moreso to me why Shun has so much trouble. I'm proud of his growth though and how much he is trying, despite the backsliding at times. I honestly adore Alan though and need someone like him in my life for warm hugs and sound advice 😅🥰

2024-07-31 04:25:03 +0000 UTCoh yeah he took a big step forward in episode 8, and then regressed a little bit in episode 9. But that's just how things go sometimes. You take 3 steps forward and then 2 steps back. Progress isn't linear. But he needs a patient and understanding partner like Dai who will stand by him while he works all of that out. That's why I was always so hard on him! Cause I relate to him so much. But I can see how he's getting in his own way. But I know that being with Dai is going to be good for him and provide him with a lot of healing.
