Dev Log 3.4: Navigating

Hello!

When this post goes live, I'll be somewhere on my way back home. I feel very ready to get back to work on this project. I managed to get a solid amount of writing done.

Each scene has something written for it, and ~6 of the scenes are basically fully written (barring any changes while rendering and any extra before or after transitional bits I may need to add). So, when I get back I'll be able to get started working through these scenes. It should be a pretty quick process, and naturally I'll continue writing the other scenes as I go.

The prelude seems to be trending in a slightly shorter direction, but I would still anticipate it needing 2000 renders by the end, though if it dips below that I wouldn't necessarily be surprised, as the update itself is a transitional moment between ch3 and ch4 to provide a little more depth and better pacing than jumping straight to the plans for ch4.

As I believe I've mentioned previously, my original plan didn't include this prelude, and instead the majority of it was tagged onto ch3 with a little into ch4. But then as I worked on ch3 and began to properly plan out ch4 I realized that it would be much better for the game overall to include an extra update here; without it, some things would've felt either rushed into chapter 3, or would pay off too quickly in chapter 4. So for the sake of pacing and balance in the storytelling and character development, structuring in the prelude felt like a sensible choice. I believe the overall experience will be greater as a result.

You'll get more previews next week. I'm hoping that I'll have a nice variety to show you by then.
