This tutorial explains how to make a simple pleated face mask with head straps. I geared this guide with folks who perhaps do not sew very much in mind. So I have filled the guide with as many step-by-step pictures as I could muster.
This is a free tutorial for everyone, and if you have any friends or family that need more step-by-step guidance, I encourage you to share this file with them or perhaps print it out for them.
Not only do I show how to make the design, but there is a printable pattern and I describe how to make a nifty mask washing bag too!
And I admit, I know this is a bit out of the range of my typical content of fursuit tutorials. But it was something that felt important to me, and I have been working hard on it. I finally practiced this design and tried enough over the past few months to show and share my way of doing it. Researching what seemed like a good balance of easiest to sew and also easy to wear. While I know there's a sea of other options for homemade masks including tutorials, I hope this style is one you like the look of enough to try!
