I was sipping my coffee and thinking about some things. ☕️
Yesterday when I was driving around, I almost got hit by a very treacherous red light runner who veered around other cars that had already stopped so he could run the red. 😳
Then I was almost rear ended by someone holding/looking at his phone. 📱
Then I was almost backed into by yet another distracted driver. 🚗
I started to feel the weight of our busy, distracted world. It was starting to get me down. 😔
But then, as I stood in a long line at Costco, a cashier nearby opened up and people rushed over. I didn’t rush over. As I stood there watching, a man who was in that line pointed to me and then pointed to the empty spot he had left for me ahead of him. I almost started tearing up. 🥹
It was not because I wanted that spot but because a stranger showed an act of kindness. With all the busy, distracted world swirling around, someone could wait. Someone could notice.
It made all the difference in how I felt.
Even as I type this, tears are forming! Lol
Please don’t neglect the small acts of kindness. Someone may be uplifted by what you say or do 😇
