A year and a bit
Added 2021-10-12 02:25:12 +0000 UTCIt's about time this page gets another update, it might look empty here but that is because most updates happen over at the Discord channel and/or Twitter. But let's see if I can't get better about doing updates here (at the very least monthly updates).
So it's been about a year and a half since this Patreon page was started, it has been a year and a bit since the first "public" release. The bot itself started in my brain a bit more than 2 years ago and actually took quite a few months before I actually started working on it.
So what has been going on since the last public update here? *takes a look at when the last public post was* oooooh lord, that was when we finally went into alpha, where to begin. Let's get the boring part over and done with first. When I started this project I had actually just recently got diagnosed with depression. I've started to learn how to deal with it but I had a bit of a "relapse" where because of the depression I had a problem finding the will to do anything so for quite a few months the development was slower than I would have wanted.
But even with that, I would say there has been quite a bit of progression. we have more than doubled the code in the bot. Some of the new stuff is:
Auto updater.
New modules: Randomizer, TTS, File read/write, Command line.
Sub modules for OBS module.
Command/Timer/Points testing.
Backup.
Parameters.
Hotkeys.
Anti-hate raid tools.
Linux and Mac support.
Many many many UI improvements.
Tons and tons of bug fixes.
We have also reached many "milestones" when it comes to Twitter and Patreon followers, we entered a hackathon (made by twitch), didn't win anything but it was still very cool. We have had a few youtube videos made about the bot and made some ourselves (thanks to our mod Salta64)
Overall it's been an amazing year, it has been great seeing what people have created using the bot, I'm very much looking forward to seeing what this year will bring, cause I know I have some exciting plans for this year! And of course, my goal is still to create one of the best bots out there (with a focus on ease of use), but not only that I want to build a fantastic community around the bot, where people feel that they can come to ask for help or bring feedback and ideas. This has always been my goal and always will be together with me always being open and honest with you guys.
So thank you all for showing an interest in the bot. Special thanks to:
Nikoheart for always being a good friend and pushing me in this project.
Moderation team for always being ready to jump in and help people and me.
Andilippi for making the first showcase youtube video of the bot.
Creators that have made videos about the bot.
Patrons for taking a "leap of faith" and try this bot out.
