Some big steps!
Added 2021-01-14 18:39:39 +0000 UTCSeems like I’m still bad at doing this monthly update thing, oh well, hopefully I will get there at some point. So this month, almost two month have been crazy for bikubot.
Bikubot has had 8 updates, bringing 3 new modules, one which has 2 sub modules. We made updates to the UI to make it look cleaner and unified. We have put a chat into the bot (very much a work in progress), we have added the start to our parameters system to compute text values at execution time. We also started adding control commands, pre-defined commands to control parts of the bot, like sound and TTS.
One of our new modules is the text to speech module that is in a testing stage as this is likely a module that will require a patreon subscription even in the future as the version that is in the bot brings a monthly cost for me. Though I will look into adding not as good text to speech as the current version but free ones.
I’ve also set up a trello so I and you can keep better tracks on planned features and what's coming in the near future: https://trello.com/b/Za3AQp46/bikubot-development
We have had our first youtuber make a video about the bot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTU2OrPwg4g , Go check out Andilippi on youtube, he makes great tutorials for streamers and has a lot of cool things on his youtube channel.
Thanks to that video we got an influx of patrons, thank you everyone for joining the project and taking a chance on this still very new chatbot. I hope to bring you all the most customizable and easy to use chatbot.
So what’s coming next? Nothing is 100% set in stone, but I’m looking at Moderation tools, hotkeys and command line module.
So as I wanna be honest with you all I’m gonna talk a bit about myself and money. I would very much like this project to be my full time “job” in the future (yes I’m thinking about supporting this project for a looong time), especially as I am unemployed and actively searching for a job. with the influx of patrons I’m a bit over ¼ of the way to being able to do this full time. Though saying that, who knows I might never reach that point, but I will still support and work on this project even if that never happens.
But just know I’m forever grateful for the support you guys show and for every little bit I’m able to take more time from job-searching and put it towards working on the bot. I am also always trying to think of ways of making being a patreon feel more worth it, so if you have some idea of something you like as a patreon reward feel free to talk to me, because I really wanna make it feel like it worth being a patreon!
