Gordon Carbine

Guys, this was one of my favorite videos to make. The research behind was tough, and it was horrendously hard to find footage in the back end, but the end result was well worth it. Hope you enjoy!

Henry and Josh. Hello and good evening guys. I am a north of 69 baby boomer and Vietnam era vet. No I've never been "down range" , "in country", on the "two way range" or any of the other euphemisms describing a front line combat Marine or Soldier. Having a dad who was US Army WWII and was stationed on Guadalcanal, having close friends who have served in combat I do have a very deep, heartfelt respect for other veterans, especially combat vets. Now all this said I was an adult in my 40's when Mogadishu took place Gary Gordon and Randy Shugart were truly brave and selfless men who were deserving both of the MOH and having tribute rifles, replicas of their weapons. Words do a poor job of describing the example that men like these leave behind for those who serve to follow. Quoting Christ from the Holy Bible "No greater love has one man for another than, that he lay down his life for his brother." Henry and Josh I am relatively new to your channel and am a new Patreon supporter but I do enjoy your great reviews and thought provoking "Which would you choose?" scenarios. As a NRA life member and shooting sports enthusiast I very much like the mental challenges presented in those scenarios. My deepest thanks and sincere respect for any here who have "gone down range" and put their lives in harms way. Thank you Gentlemen.

Henry and Josh, thank you for the review and info on the Gordon carbine. I have never felt a ting of emotion or nostalgia in a YouTube gun vid before. This video will hopefully be well recieved. For some background, I am a avid viewer, 23 year active duty Navy guy in NSW helo support ( crewchief). The story of Mstg. Gordon and Mstg. Shugart are the pillars of a life of duty to me. Like many I read Black Hawk Down in HS but I saw the movie as a command that was deploying I similar situations from places like BIAP and LSA Anaconda into FOBs in the Suni triangle. I'll end with I keep a small piece of my 18 month little girls hair in my e&e pack because of that book. Thank you for your video and know that is has a positive impact on a guy on a endless deployment thanks to Covid. - Steve
