You're Still You - Full Resolution
Added 2022-09-13 13:00:07 +0000 UTChenllo everyone!!! as promised, here's a few more illustrations (or comic?) based off PMD: Explorers of Sky.
context: this is just a headcanon i have that back when they were human, the Player character had an habit unique to them that only their trusted friend would recognize.
in this case, my Hero, Mocha, used to smile in a specific way (eyes partially closed, eyebrows up, glint in her eyes). i call this smile "the squinty". she directed this gesture at the people she loved, and only when she felt really happy. when Mocha and Grovyle found the location of time gears in the future, she would make the squinty at him. and for a moment, all was well.
cut to the past, Mocha gives Grovyle the exact same gesture she used to do in the future, except this time she has a fluffy eevee face. but she's still the same Mocha. and now Grovyle's even more certain of that.
(also i chose Hidden Land's rest stop as the past scene bc it's like. the last time Grovyle's with you. and you're full of hope that you're gonna save the future, and that Grovyle will be there with you n Partner..... seemed like a good moment for the player char to feel particularly happy, or optimistic at least. cue "the squinty".)
