Some may have known that Kobold Garden was going to have a playable demo for the current Steam Next Fest. I unfortunately had to make the executive decision to pull out as I was unable to finish the demo in time.
Most foundational systems were complete such as picking up and petting kobolds, the levels, the shop, but other aspects were not. Most animations look unfinished, the only minigame was bare bones, and there was no music at all. I feel the impression most would get from playing this demo would be a negative one.
The plan for now is to get an update for Smol Kobold Garden going, finish new models for baby kobolds, and then get the main Kobold Garden up and running. With smol I want to change up how the terrain system works, making it more grid based for easier editing and placing items in real time. Then get the baby kobolds into both games. And then finishing up Kobold Garden for an early access release.
The early access release was originally planned for July so I'm sorry for this delay. I feel it's best for the games and should only be delayed by a few more months. Then it can enter a future Next Fest in a much better state too. With this we should be back to our scheduled updates soon so stay tuned!
