New Ambience: Between Adventures

Greetings Patrons,

Happy New Year! I hope you had a safe and joyous holiday season. I managed to sneak away to my studio more than I thought I might. Mostly I did lots of boring things like upgrade hard drives, tidy cabling and some basic sprucing. Between all that, I even managed to write some music.

This is a downtime ambience, meaning it's betwixt and between. A liminal space. It's about waiting. It's about not slaying things or exploring ruins. You and your party are at a tavern. You're not entirely happy about it. Maybe you're waiting for news. You occupy the time as best you can. Sharpening your blades, drinking, playing games, fidgeting with gear.

The ambience is a quiet tavern. There are other patrons here, perhaps a room away. As I mentioned above, you and your party occupy yourselves as best you can. Don't worry, the front door will open with good news or bad news. Either way, you'll be off again soon.

Musically this fairly gentle and meandering and would make a good peaceful backdrop for a variety of settings. It's a mix of tavern style instrumentation and some traditional orchestral instruments. Live percussion and tagelharpa mixed with chamber strings, woodwinds, dulcimer, harp and piano.

As this is in Patreon sneak-peek mode, I've included the mixed version of the track (live on the site next week), as well as music-only, and ambience-only versions. Additionally, I created two 'No Party' versions which remove the foreground activities and leave the tavern background voices and fireplace ambience. I hope you find these useful additions.
