New SoundPad: Bleakwater Docks

Greetings Patrons,

Here's a new SoundPad that I've been working on for a while. Astute observers will recognize the title from a 10 minute ambience I did a few years ago. There's also a docks background sound inside the Cthulhu SoundPad from the same year. I wanted to explore that environment in a bit more depth and see if I could expand it into a more fleshed out, living place.

Bleakwater is a fictional New England (former) whaling town whose glory days are well past. This is set in the 1920s/30s but it could very easily be more current (or past). Only the diesel engine sound places it in history. It definitely comes from a Lovecraftian angle, but I don't think it's at all limited to those stories.

Bleakwater Docks contains 32 sounds, including 5 layerable tones. I made the decision not to include dedicated musical track on this one as I felt that the tones created the perfect vibe and were ultimately more flexible.

There are lots of event sounds, or one shots, in this one and it really helps to use the frequency timer to automate them:

If you haven't played around with this feature, it's an excellent way to set up a variety of sounds at varying intervals and then sit back as the scene comes alive. Make sure to save these scenes for easy recall! Not all sounds have the timer icon (some like looping winds etc just wouldn't work too well) but most one shots and some looping sounds do.

This SoundPad is currently in Patreon only sneak-peek mode so it is not linked from the main menus. Please don't share the link. It will go live to the public next week. I've also included all the sound content as a download attached to this post.

The content from this SoundPad will be added to the Custom SoundPad in a week or so.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

This is pretty awesome! I'll put it to good use for my Brindlewood Bay setting.

How did you know I need this? We are in laketown (lotr) and I need more docks ambience, I've been using a few of your sounds combined to make it but now I don't have to do that! Thank you!
