New Ambience: Necropolis

Greetings Patrons,

I must admit that the term Necropolis always seemed misused to me, but I think I was the one misusing it. It means literally, city of the dead in Greek. But it's often simply a large graveyard or complex of tombs.  I much prefer to think of it as an actual city, teeming with spirits. It's more dramatic, more 'fun', and is what I kept envisioning as I worked on this piece.

The wind is unnatural, the buildings are decaying, the shrieks of spirits echo off the massive stone structures. Massive edifices tower skyward as far as the eye can see.

Musically it's all about eerie strings and tremulous choirs. Deep percussion accentuates the gravity of it all.  I think this will work well across genres as long as the story is set in a grand, off-putting environment.

I've included the mixed version (which will be added to the site next week), as well as music-only, and ambience-only versions here for patrons.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

I often find myself using either the Ambience or the Music version because the full piece doesn't work right for my scene, but this is *perfect* for the Amber Temple-inspired temple my party will be stumbling on soon.

As author of a novel called 'Necropolis'... I highly approve! :)
