Happy New Year everyone! I decided to start 2016 with a fairly frequent request, and, frankly, one that I needed a little convincing to do.
Lively Cafe, was created from a handful of field recordings in Brooklyn coffee shops and bistros. Turns out, it takes a surprising amount of editing to keep the audible conversations at a bare minimum. In, er..researching this one, I would typically find a good table and get 2 or 3 minutes of audio and then a couple would sit down and start talking about Pilates, or work, or their cat. During one outing I was sitting at a table with my wife, who totally busted me with my recorder out under the table. I edited her out (sorry honey!). Additionally, I had to find a cafe that wasn't playing music due to copyright issues. A tall order indeed! I did find that a quick chat with a barista about what I was doing usually granted me 5 or so minutes of music-free recording opportunity!
So here's a modern coffee shop/cafe ambience for your games, or for those of you who like to study to this type of sound. Enjoy!
