Order of the Phoenix is easily the most divisive installment in the series. A lot of people love it, a lot of people hate it. Personally it’s my favorite of the books. I love the political themes and the complexity they add to the story. It’s unique in that it focuses on power struggles, propaganda, and psychology. I like seeing Harry’s progression from anger/hurt to compassion and connection. You’re totally right that it spends a lot of time setting up the rest of the series. It’s a necessary bridge imo but it’s understandable that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. The book is an 800 page monster, and I think they did an impressive job condensing the story into an overall good movie. I do however think the plot works better as a book. I like the atmosphere and music, we get a lot of great performances too, but it doesn’t have the heart that the book has. It’s not my favorite compared to 1, 3 or 4, but it’s still an enjoyable watch. Anyway, thanks for the fun reaction! I’m gonna watch your Half Blood prince reaction later and I’m very much looking forward to it.
