I went to high school with Jamie Brewer, Nan/Adelaide. We never had any classes together. I was a debate nerd and I guess she was a theater kid. Potential for overlap, but we never crossed paths.

I totally understand your reasoning, but I'd recommend you to reconsider and finish up AHS with freak show instead of coven! Freak show is the last season with basically all the original cast, so it feels like a more organic way to potentially end ahs overall if it never comes back to the channel. Again though, totally understand your reasoning!

One of you asked if there are any male witches / warlocks. The answer to that question is in season 8. If you only watch one more season, the most logical one to watch at this point is season 8 Apocalypse.
Season 4 - Freak Show was pretty good too. Other than the freaks, you get introduced to three very interesting new characters.

Everyone has favorite seasons and disliked seasons of American Horror Story, because each season is generally independent, and so if you don't like one story, you just skip that season until you get to the ones that resonate with you.
I stopped at Cult because it was a Too Soon situational horror about Trump's first win, and I just needed to take a break for mental sanity reasons, and then I just never got back into it.
But honestly? Coven is fun but far more campy than horror, which is WHY it's fun, and why out of all of them it's my favorite for re-watching.
The only other season that I would watch again is AHS: Roanoke, and it is by far the scariest season ever in the ones I've seen. Absolutely terrifying. Anyone who has ever been up in the Appalachias and the woods between the Hollers knows that the folklore depicted in Roanoke is still real in the mountains today. Roanoke was down on the coast, but the spirits encountered by the first colonists only got pushed back into the Appalachian highlands as modern humanity and the foreign gods of Judeo-Christianity took control over the coastal lowlands. But the American Gods and the American Demons still roam freely in the Appalachias, and every local to the region knows the folklore that can HELP them not get et.
HELP. Not guarantee.

Okay, so "I can think of 2 or three things not to say in that moment... and that's not 2 or 3..." now I'm curios Blake... what ARE 2 and 3? XD

Kathy Bates is one of the greatest actresses! She's great in Freakshow too, if you ever do decide to react to that season.

COVEN ?! Completely missed that you guys were doing this season … but, I’m so hyped that you are !! Corey you’re right — “extreme and dark” doesn’t even cover the half of this episode. Imagine watching this at 9:00 pm, on the first night, when it first aired … 😃 No thoughts, head empty 😭 Angela Basset made it worth it though lmao. Definitely make sure both of you are in a good mental space, while watching this. Personally, this ahs season will always be first in my heart — for personal reasons, and the great casting +setting/plot 🖤

Understandable about taking a break to focus on other content, so no hard feelings on that front.
This is definitely a solid season to go out on, my second favorite after Asylum.

Oh, and the Butler played Larry (guy with burned face) in Murderhouse.

First here! :)
Did you recognize Kathy Bates (Misery, Titanic). I believe she won an Emmy or somesuch for this season.
The character she plays sadly was a real person; while some of it is fictionalized, she did keep slaves locked up in the attic and performed horrid acts on them.
Oh and Nicholas Cage really did own her house at one point.
