I wish the movies did justice to the character's back stories. I found each story more engaging than the actual romance happening. For instance, we never got a real Carlisle or Alice backstory when it was all in the books. Carlisle's story was fascinating. I think his father was like a Preacher or something. They always went "witch hunting" until one day Carlisle found real monsters. The real monsters Carlisle found bit him and knowing his father would kill him, he had to crawl away to hide cuz he was turning into a vampire. After he turned, he used his power to learn how to be a doctor. He even lived with the Voltori for a time.
