A huge thanks! And update on development

About two weeks ago, my laptop failed, and with it, I lost the source files for my mods, with the latest backups for some parts of the mod being months old. It's been a very hectic, stressful couple weeks since then, but to cut a long story short, I'm now back up and running on a new computer, and I've managed to recover all files for the mod. 


Your support has been greatly appreciated in this time, without your contributions I would not have been able to get back up and running so soon, and may have even thought twice about paying to try to have my files recovered.


Thank you all so much for your support, for helping save Ultimate Firefight Sandtrap, and supporting the Weaver900 mods to come in the future :D

Pre-rendered Cinematics

Early preview of some of the prerendered cinematics I'm working on for the final version of Ultimate Firefight. They're still very unfinished, and they won't be implemented until the final release, but I'll probably post them a bit early here when they're done :D

Don't expect studio-level quality, but I'm happy with how they're coming along!

UFS's epilogue is going to be awesome :D

I've decided to split it into it's own separate mission, which will be about the same size and scale as a regular campaign mission. It's going to tie up the story for the mod, and be epic :D

They may not be the most loved, but they have their place :D

With UFS 6.0's next alpha release, many of the weapons have been made dual wieldable. This has opened a space in the sandbox for a light pistol with headshot capability... The Halo 2 pistol is back :D

I don't remember this on sandtrap...

Occasionally the player will be challenged by the Banished (or get captured by them if they run out of lives), if they accept they can get into a banished phantom that will take them to an arena to fight against challengers or other captured prisoners (Flood, Prometheans, Covenant, Heretics or Insurrectionists) for either bonus rewards from challenges, or to avoid game over (with a cap of once per round) if you get captured by them!

I haven't fully decided on how this system is gonna work yet, but it should be cool!

Brute overhaul

I've made a new custom brute biped for Ultimate Firefight, combining H2A, Reach and Halo 3 models to make them much more unique :D


Coming to 6.0 the final final update soon! :D

Abomination

Not 100% That it'll make it to 5.1/6.0, giant bipeds are really glitchy with pathfinding and I don't want to make a new boss fight, but I've had fun animating it. (Honestly the "Final update" has turned out to be a lie, so much content coming :D)

Ultimate Firefight Sandtrap 5.0 Releasing tomorrow!

An absolutely insane amount of content coming, with a lot of characters being updated to Halo 2 Anniversary models, Halo Wars 2 vehicles, a new system of "Themed waves" and unlockable rewards, and 4 new boss fights!

Stuff coming in the next update:

It's been a while! I'd like to blame Covid and work, but Elden Ring and Cult of the Lamb are equally to blame :D Since the next update is going to be mostly scripting and systems work, I don't really have any cool screenshots to show off at the moment, but here is my list of planned features for 4.0, which will likely be the biggest and potentially the last major update for Ultimate Firefight Sandtrap.


Todo for 4.0

Big stuff-

Objective waves system

Reward Unlock system

Reward choice system

Save system

Ally rally points system

Add new boss fights (Gravemind, super chieftain, super zealot. Possibly include: Super monitor, Didact)

Add new reward types (Marine Snipers, Flamethrower ODSTs, Elite Ultras, Snipers, Zealots. Covenant vehicles)

Update English, Spanish, Italian and French support for all text

Add new methods of AI entering map (Drop pod, walking from sides, phantom vs spirit randomized), Make more AI spawn if game is too easy



Little stuff:

Fix banshee spam 

Finish implementation of Reach and Halo 4 heroes

Maybe add Halsey as a hero? She could use a Mantis if I can be bothered to fix the animations one day


This won't be everything added, and also potentially not everything listed here will be included, but this is my current plan :)

I've got covid :(

And it sucks! Sorry for the slow posts here lately, I show some stuff off occasionally on the SPV3 discord too if anyone is dying to see some firefight progress, but I haven't posted anything in a while since I've been sick.

Halo 3 Mod- Flood Juggernaut Completed vs Prometheans and Banished

I've finished off the missing animations and physics model for the Flood Juggernaut, and made a lot of further changes to it's AI too. Expect to see it soon in an update for Ultimate Firefight Sandtrap!
