I didn't know how to say this yesterday but: With the Hannah/Ulrich/Katharina thing, there's only so much we can say and it's intentionally vague BUT there were also several things throughout this episode that reflect more of the truth of that situation. The way time travel works here will be more clear but right now, we don't know the inciting event that started this whole thing. Michael being Jonas's father from the beginning shows that Mikkel interacting with Hannah and Ines in the past was always meant to happen.

This show is amazing but guys please don't be afraid to give your theories even if u think it sounds dumb, I love hearing what u guys thing is going to happen and who u think could be the stranger and stuff. You will get answers for everything and can't wait to see u guys faces for each one lol.

Okay now that it's out, in like episode 1, one of you said (I think it was Igli or Corey) Mikkel was Jonas's dad as a throwaway comment and then you got confused and forgot about that theory. My jaw dropped when I heard it. Mikkel told Ines that he was from the future but she had no understanding of time travel so she thought that he was just this deeply traumatized boy. The letter was the same and when she broke down in tears at the end of episode one after reading it.
