This is one of those rare occasions where the opinion of the comic protagonist is pretty much a complete opposite of what I believe in real life. Unorthodox class types are super cool and should absolutely be used more, even if they’re just reskins of traditional classes most of the time.
I guess this guy is Astrid’s failson younger brother? Let’s call him Ishmael. One has to wonder what kind of lifestyle he leads such that he’s enough of a shut-in NEET to indulge in greasy-ass shoulder-length nordic blonde strawhair and lengthy bouts of basement gaming, but resplendent with enough practical career skills that he would realistically be using LinkedIn regularly instead of just looking for jobs on, say, Craigslist— even if he is clearly doing so with a deep sense of dejected There-Is-No-Alternative-ism and So-This-Is-My-Life-ishness. Oh well; we can at least get some pleasure out of imagining a Gamer(TM) whose petty and infantile content grievances are NOT due to racism or sexism or transphobia, but due to some sort of misdirected but justified displeasure with one of Late Capitalism (TM)’s tedious and dehumanizing accoutrements.
Though it obviously began as a joke, I have legitimately grown fond of the concept of the all-purpose Mancer. Presumably, they belong to some kind of esoteric yet scientific guild, where they study the various arts of arcane molecule manipulation, thoroughly academic and logical in their usage and philosophizing of magic, yet also kind of weird and kinky enough that they make everyone wear these weird sexy rubber harnesses as part of their official uniform. Just far enough off the beaten path of traditional high fantasy character design that it tickles my brain’s pleasure centers. Maybe even a little Moebius-esque?
That Senior Joy Officer looks too nice to be actually, secretly, a complete NIMBY-Psycho-Karen. And yet, she also looks too nice to replace with a different drawing. Who can say no to a face like that?
