My Old Tattoo Art

Back in 2015 I was a licensed tattoo artist for a short period of time. I went through an apprenticeship and got my license, but let it expire once it came time to renew for a variety of reasons.
Here is some of my old flash, sketches, practices that I kept from that time.

A practice page for american traditional flash, mostly Sailor Jerry style tattoos

Here is a large flash piece and what would be the stencil for that piece, never used

 Various flash work

    Various flash concepts and sketches

Last but not least, practicing free handing text. I hated text and if I were to go back to tattooing, I'd simply tell people I don't do text work.

I always use the Hand Book sketchbooks and can use watercolor and marker on them fine. If youre using alcohol markers like copic I have never found a paper that doesnt bleed, its best for copics to only draw on one side, with a blocking paper between pages to prevent excess bleeding. You can try other sketchbooks with a paper weight of 95lb or over that should hold up. Its good to go and feel the paper texture and see if its something you like.

Hey, was just wondering what sketchbooks you recommend? I’m looking to get back into art and I’m looking for sketchbooks that won’t bleed when using marker or watercolor.
