January Stories

Hello all. How are you doing? I hope you're all safe and healthy.

Over here things are looking a little bleak. Covid cases are rising at an alarming rate so we'll be in confinement starting next week. I'll be going home tomorrow since restrictions are lifted so that we can get to where we need to be to start our confinement.  It should be only for two weeks this time around, just to try and get this under control again.  Hopefully, it'll help to at least reduce the strain on our hospitals.

As for the stories this month, there'll be two and a half.  The half, as you may suspect, is the second part of 'Red' that I was unable to post because I wasn't home and for some reason, I can't post saved drafts from my phone.  I don't think Patreon likes my phone.  I will also be finishing up 'In Search of Tomorrow' again because of my phone and not having access to the file on my computer at home.  With any luck, this confinement will help me catch up to everything and have everything running smoothly.

The other two short stories are  'The Games They Play' and 'Hourglass'.

The Games They Play

If there was one word that defined Conner it was normal. He'd had a normal childhood, a normal adolescence, a normal college experience. If Conner was being honest, boring could define him pretty well, too. He didn't mind. He'd never aspired to be anything grandiose or leave his mark on the world; that had always been his sister's dream. Therefore, when he got home one day and found a being in his room telling him he was meant to save the world, he had the perfectly normal reaction of pointing it towards his sister's room.

Hourglass

Life had always been simple for Kyle. He went to work, visited his parents when he had the chance, went out with friends. Simple. Easy. Then, one day, one of his students walked through his door, and everything changed. He's forced into a hunt for answer to questions he never knew he needed to ask. And gets thrown into a world where death lurks everywhere, and life is everything.
